I have my concerns about Trump but one thing has struck me over the course of his very entertaining run thus far: he is reflexively pro-America. It just tumbles out like everything else. He’s not faking that. For all the potential disagreement I might have with the man on a variety of political points, that is a rare quality in a Presidential candidate these days. Unapologetically pro-America.
I also have concerns about Trump and I really don’t think he’ll be the candidate.
That being said, I hope his campaign remains viable for a long, long time. He is good for the party. No one else could get the publicity he gets and therefore the publicity his ideas and opinions get.
And they’re not all bad. I think a lot of air will go out of the room if he ever becomes irrelevant but one encouraging thing to me is that he and Ted Cruz seem to have forged a pretty good relationship and if he does bow out, he may throw his support to Ted.
He’s a patriot. And there couldn’t be a more striking contrast to Obama.
Exactly. He genuinely loves his country and he thinks he can help as POTUS. I think that's why he is running.
Also, Trump is not just a talker, he is a real-world success. He can get things done. He INSISTS on getting things done. We are beyond fed up with ineffective Republican "leaders" who accomplish nothing and who cannot or will not defend consevative policies.
Trump has not been morally and intellectually paralyzed by political correctness disease. These days, that's a rare and valuable quality in a Republican politician. I prefer leaders who are not mentally paralyzed.
I have some qualms about Trump's non-conservative past, and I hope Cruz defeats him in the primary, but I basically like Trump. If Trump wins, he will be the best presidential candidate we have had in a long time.
Agrred , tired of globalism and our leaders curing the rest of the world while this country dry rots.
