Cruz is my #2, so I didn’t want to bring up the electability question for him—but I think it is a real issue at this point.
Too intense, especially given his conservative purity, for the general election. Most likely to get to the presidency through being Trump’s VP first.
But if Trump falters or otherwise disappoints, I’ll be back to Cruz being my man as well.
I am for Cruz, but if he doesn't make it, I think Rubio might be the best bet overall, in terms of a balance of conservatism, competence, and electability. You'll bring up the immigration issue, but let's see if he can shore up that position satisfactorily. In other respects, I think he's got a lot going for him.
