Kurzwell has been writing books about the coming singularity between man and computers for decades.

He predicts the singularity in the early 2040’s. It doesn’t start out with a brain in your skull (ala Old Man’s War), no. It starts with things like nanobots injected that kills cancer. Who could say no to that?

Indeed he has and his predictions have been pretty accurate. What the apparently uninformed Freepers are missing here is that Kurzwell is simply predicting the inevitable.

Yes, Google will help make it happen but technology will advance with or without Google's help. Your nanobot example is a good one. It is coming. If you don't want it, don't buy it. But people will adopt and adapt to new technology. They certainly adapted to having an encyclopedia and a universal communications gadget in their purse or pocket quite rapidly. That is trend that is not going to change.
