Had MASH ended after 2-3 years, it would be remembered more favorably. Alan Alda was its long demise.
My best Taxi episode...when Louie wanted Bobby to “play” him at a 20 year high school reunion. Bobby has Louie’s quirks down...and no one can believe how “Louie” has changed. His former nemisis goes on and on and on about how much money he makes, his he doesn’t pay any taxes...and “Louie” says “well i didn’t fair near as good as you, I just went to college, got a degree in accounting, and got a Civil Service job...with the IRS. Do you have an attorney?”
Big Bang Theory, Modern Family, and The Middle would all be on my list too.
I never watched it when it was on regular TV, was too busy with real life. But the re-runs are hilarious! Love Marie, she’s a great actress!...............
There’s no such thing as an ‘old joke’ if you’ve never heard it before......Groucho Marx
One of the cast's favorites is this one:
Carol Burnett Show outtakes - Tim Conway's Elephant Story
You have to listen until nearly the end at 4:21. Vicki Lawrence delivers the coup de grâce.
Modern Family is not on any list of mine at all, except maybe the Worst of TV................
The Honeymooner Alice makes a mocker of what feminist content 50’s “oppressed” women were living like....... that show was in the 50s and nobody found Alice’s “take no BS from Ralph” mouth or attitude shocking or unusual...
“Gourmet Night”, was hilarious.
Can you imagine a sitcom today where the male character threatens to send his wife ‘To the moon!’?.........................
Classing example of perfect deadpan timing making the line
Same here - retired now, and catch re-runs now and again. Yes, Marie’s pretty good.
Wow, she turned out much better than I'd have ever thought.
Why did we laugh?
The comedic genius that was Lucille Ball, and the great straight man qualities of Vivian Vance, William Crawley and Desi Arnez? Their chemistry and timing were incredible.
I heard that one was a little better with some pot.
The best part of Fawlty Towers were the barbs between Basil and Sybil....
“Have a nice day, dear. Don’t drive over any mines or anything.”
True! Mary Tyler Moore show was pretty cute.
Back then, they could not have a double bed in Rob and Laura’s bedroom....thus the twin beds. I heard that once - we’ve come a long way DOWN!
Yea I saw the Pilot they did for the US, and thank god it didn’t get picked up, even though the pilot was virtually identical to the British episode one line for line, it just didn’t work.. they had the guy from Talk Soup play Roy and it just didn’t work.... it was poorly casted IMHO. Much like the attempt at making Red Dwarf for the US.
Yep, Both Newharts and the Odd Couple should be on the lis.
