We do so every year. No big deal. No need to be a drama queen about it. Bears exist. They go through all kind of areas every day.

Yep. Happens regularly here. This past October we had one making the rounds to clean up the fruit tree drops. Young male, tagged, about 140lbs and appeared to be about three years old.

It wasn't aggressive and was fattening up for winter (25,000 calories a day). Just pay attention and back off slowly. Affordable motion sensors are very helpful to avoid confrontations.

I wish the local game commission would do an educational add blitz about feeding bears. "If you feed the bear, you will kill the bear" or something like that. We had problems a couple years ago with people feeding them and making them aggressive.

I am still amazed how big the black bear nose is. The change from a black coat to a very large brown nose is something to marvel over.

They had to put down several bears where I live this year. A local wouldn’t quit feeding them despite multiple warnings and tickets. Locals were upset.

I had 942 picts on my trophy cam in 2 weeks at the one stand last June, we have more bear here along the Yukon than anywhere’s I lived in Pa, no joke. When bear put the stalk on ya, they hug the ground with front quarters, butt high and crawl in real slow with ears goin back and forth independently. I’ve had them at 5 feet and waved & hollered them off; shot another one. These were 150 lb blk bear which have no problem eating you. You have to watch the yearling boars, and the ones that come around houses (which we always shoot). The bear that get accustomed to people eventually wonder what humans taste like. Actually, I see most grizzly bears in aug & sept in blueberries; shoot everyone we see as they driving our moose to extinction; taking 85% of moose calf production every May & JUne.Bear also seem to sense when people are not at home; break in. I’ve had to help drag a bloody bear out of a cabin a few times over the years. All bear around houses & people are supposed to be shot on sight before they kill a local child.
