A competent man with an elk rifle could knock down every helicopter the National Guard could throw at him.

Happened in a small town. Everyone knew the shooter, who had been a problem for years (as had his father).

I don’t think it took Lieutenant Columbo to solve it.

its rounds can "penetrate light armor, down helicopters, destroy commercial aircraft, and blast through rail cars,"

Yes, .50 BMG can do all of that ... usually from a heavy machinegun, not from a single shot rifle.

And the Newnited States Goobermint thought so highly of them, they have bought or contracted to buy, well over 800 of them.

I know the Army has bought over 100...the USMC over 125.

So, it must be a good 'un.

Big deal, I downed a helicopter with an SKS.

IN A GAME!! IN A GAME!!!

I took out a helicopter with a round from the main armament on an M1 Abrams from 1.5 kilometers. It was epic.

Well, very cool. I’d like for my state to have an official state rifle to. I suppose it would be the Winchester model 70. Pre-64, of course.

Yes, and I seem to recall seeing somewhere that the .416 Barrett actually performs better at long range than the .50BMG Barrett. :)

Someone nailed a sheriff’s plane in eastern Oklahoma quite a few years ago.

In reading some of my dad’s old military papers, in one fight, some of the soldiers in WWII tried to run upstairs in a house so they could fire down the bore of a German tank and make the round explode in the chamber.

Brave solders. That’s kinda going all in. Ends badly if you don’t succeed.

Gives a whole new meaning to the phrase “fly over-country!” Maybe someday it’ll be called “pucker-over territory.”

Oh the horror that liberals feel! Every American has enough chemicals in their house to build a bomb that would blow a house up.

There are enough knives in the average American home to kill 3000 people without sharpening.

The average adult American has enough liquor lying sound to drink themselves to death or procreate irresponsibly.

Americans own enough cars that if easy car ran over 35 people the human race would go extinct.

In other news, people kill people with whatever is handy.
