To make things even harder, the city passed an ordinance making it almost impossible to sell shuttered public schools to charter schools - which would raise money, because giving in anything to charter schools is deemed worse to being more broke.
I may have worked at a contractor that served DPS...may have gotten a feed from them...and that feed may have been ‘last years’ data...costing us a lot to process, then cost them a lot to re-process...in an emergency fashion...we had to ‘work with the district’ so that the problem wasn’t easily discoverable...and we may have had to take more blame on our company than was truly ours...for ‘political’ reasons...
Hope I have been sufficiently vague...and will note that I have worked with DPS for 2 different companies...only traveled there once...worked for hours one day, installing a system...my boss and I told them we wanted to get outside for a while, would walk and get a bite to eat. They told us that wasn’t a good idea...they got us supper, made us stay in the building...I was young and this was an eye-opener...plywood for windows and burned out buildings all the way there...
Just pay the students come to school. Just like the teachers and no better off.
