The real objective of women-in-combat is to make the US Military combat ineffective. To so decrease the chance that we would not lose a war against a determined enemy that we would not risk fighting it.
I suspect the main driver of this push is simply more women in the government workforce (”workfare”); everything else just ripples through. That people are even suggesting this with a straight face after our two recent losses (Iraq, Afghanistan) indicates they never seriously expect women to see combat.
