What I’m saying is too many Americans —even self-proclaimed ‘conservatives—think the President, the Police ...there’s a pattern here, can you follow?? —in other words, the GOVERNMENT—is going to save them.

Conditioned complacency. People have essentially let themselves be trained to NOT defend themselves, but to wait for some elected or appointed official to come and rescue them. See RandallFlagg’s post # 18.
