A story from one of the gun rags years ago:
A lawman was enamored with a little .25 auto for some reason, so his loving wife sewed a small pouch for it into each pair of his duty pants. He dropped it in there and carried it until the fateful day.

A bad guy wrestling him for his duty weapon succeeded in getting it, so he went inside his waistband, pulled the .25, stuck it against the man’s chest, and fired! The muscular man looked down, touched the little red spot on his sternum and said, “What’s this?!”

This is NOT the reaction you’re going for, from a man you’ve just shot, but the the distraction allowed the heroic officer to take back his sidearm and win the confrontation.

Interesting story, but sounds more like an ammunition failure than an inherent problem with the .25 ACP.
