The disaster unfolding in Venezuela is entirely the fault of the Venezuelans who elected first Hugo Chavez and then Nicolas Maduro. But check out the way CNN Money frames what's happening:
You name it, Venezuela is short of it: Meat, fish, fruits, sugar and bread. The government just doesn't have enough money to pay for them. It's created a staggering humanitarian crisis in Venezuela, where citizens don't have enough food to eat. Looting and riots have rocked the country. The declines in exports of certain food categories are staggering.
(snip) I wonder why. Read the whole thing and notice the one word you don't see in the article. Go ahead, I dare you.

Even if any media report ever talk about Venezuela at all, it is all about how desperate the situation has become and how much suffering the people are enduring. ===> Rich Western countries need to step in and step up their aid. The old UN trick.
Also file under 'media dishonesty' to pass this completely Man-Made crisis as a natural one. Need a bigger bus to cover all those files.
They destroyed a once great nation. And all due to Communism.
citizens don’t have enough food to eat
Of course. Walter Duranty lied about Stalin and the Soviet Union, so of course they are not going to be bothered to note yet another failure in socialism’s sad history.
Bush’s fault!
Hard core socialism brings with it humanitarian crisis. Always.
“The government just doesn’t have enough money to pay for them.”
That’s a very scary sentence! The “government”’doesn’t have enough? Yet Venezuela is sitting on incredibly rich natural resources. But that’s besides the point!
We here in the United States are not far from this same sort of scenario of dependence on the nanny state government for all needs. Half the population already now depends on our government for some sort of food assistance.
.......I truly FEEL for the innocent children of Venezuela.
But, for the adults that voted for “freebies”, aka “Socialism”...............sorry Charlie, you are getting precisely what your collective stupidity, aka radical “Liberalism” so richly deserves.
Somehow Hillary is involved, i can just feel it.
No lives matter to criminals/collectivists/gangbangers/governments/scumbags/SOCIALISTS/tyrants/totalitarians.
The government just doesn't have enough money to pay for them. It's created a staggering humanitarian crisis in VenezuelaThe wording of that report can be taken two ways. Eitherthe latter interpretation would be correct as a factual matter. The former interpretation is, unfortunately, probably what was intended.
- The fact that the government just doesn't have enough money to pay for them has created a staggering humanitarian crisis in Venezuela, or
- It [the government] has created a staggering humanitarian crisis in Venezuela
American socialists have been determined to evade the totalitarian implications of socialism. Thus, they call socialism liberalism. And thus, they follow longstanding tradition of suppressing - by propagandistic abuse of the very word for it - the very concept of society:SOME writers have so confounded society with government, as to leave little or no distinction between them; whereas they are not only different, but have different origins. Society is produced by our wants, and government by our wickedness; the former promotes our happiness POSITIVELY by uniting our affections, the latter NEGATIVELY by restraining our vices. The one encourages intercourse, the other creates distinctions. The first is a patron, the last a punisher.Woe to the people who have only one patron, the government.Society in every state is a blessing, but Government, even in its best state, is but a necessary evil . . . - Thomas Paine, Common Sense (1776)
Maybe Hugo’s daughter can step in and write a check for some food for the starving people. I’ve heard she has the billions she inherited stashed away.
This is what happens when your progressive government runs out of other peoples money. They’ll leave the country before they’re forced to start spending their own.
