I then ask, 'Are really in between two separate major continental glaciations or are we still in an ice age and this is just a temperate lull between glaciation. We know in the past from geology that lulls can last 1000s, 10,000s, 100,000s even million of years (likely even more!)'
If I get to that question their response is to usually walk away.
We are in a two million year ice age and current in an inter-glacial of that ice age.
We are in an interglacial period, although it is probably several thousand years too early to tell.
