Ya I’ve noticed that too. What’s up with some sites requiring you to use Facebook to comment? What if you don’t have a Facebook account? What if you don’t want a Facebook account? You have to establish one just to comment on news stories? What’s up with that?

Probably a kickback or it's free to them, letting FB filter the chaff/actionable comments, and its censors do the dirty work on the factual, but politically undesirable comments.
