He was already a disaster for the Reagan legacy, and his ineptitude made the Clintons possible. No way Bill Clinton ever should have been able to win in 1992, Pres. GHW Bush blew it by reneging on his no new taxes pledge, failing utterly to campaign, letting Bill Clinton walk all over him, etc.
He’s been best buds with the Clintons for a long time.
