Lot of my family were South Carolina’s original settlers in the Western part of the State. Walked down there from N.C.
Can’t think of any who ended up Governor, although a lot of State reps, sheriffs, Revolutionary War militiamen (Mountaineers), Confederates, and of course more then our share of WWI/WWII/Korea/Vietnam people.
Guess we ain’t as important as the Sacred Sikhs who never saw American shores until the ‘60s. Maybe we should just hand over the country to our Betters.

Isn’t that the truth. I had Carroll ancestors in what is now York County during the Revolution. A couple of them played a role in Huck’s Defeat at Williamson Plantation.
