In the Army, those rewards come with being an Officer leaving an assignment for another. JR officers get the lower awards, the more senior, the more prestigious the award just for doing a good job and moving on.

From my time in the military I’ve found that there are born leaders and born followers. Perhaps the stress and fear of being in charge was just too much for her. If that is the case, best she quit before her ship sailed.

>>I expect she’ll be charged with a handful of UCMJ violations. And then they’ll investigate why all of this drama....

Only if the staff judge advocate in her chain of command can clearly identify an offense under UCMJ, or else convenes an Article 32 investigation (same as grand jury), can this officer be court-martialed. And if she is, merely publishing a court martial convening order means her career is cooked even without a conviction.

Doesn’t seem to rise to that level, yet. But this is the Navy, and commanders of ships are considered expendable.

Actually you might have had more influence on us, the readers, if you had said less.

You can't abruptly resign. Resigning your commission in the navy requires a submission of intent to be submitted 9-12 months before separation. She was AWOL from her command, should have been arrested, and thrown in the brig.

‘Affirmative’ action hire demonstrates why ‘affirmative’ action is a failure.
