I've seen that theory floated a lot here at FR. I do not buy it. If Trump were elected by the House because a recount is not finished (not sure that can even happen), it would merely make Stein look like a kook who took voted away from American citizens.

My theory is that the left wants to look at the ballots that left the vote for POTUS blank to see if they can somehow claim that those voters intended to vote for Hillary. This would be disenfranchisement of many voters because it does not take into account the Bernie-bots and Never-Trumpers. However, that's never stopped the left.

Thomas Jefferson's election in 1800 was resolved in the House of Representatives.

Do the Democrats now consider Jefferson to be an illegitimate President? They once revered Jefferson because he's the one who created the "wall of separation between church and state."
