Trump was a campaigner who said what the people want to hear. That American citizens have rights, while illegal aliens do not. Another difference is that people believe him, whereas we have history with McCain, and had he uttered the same message everyone would have known it was a lie. But of course McCain wouldn't and didn't vocalize that message, because he only cares about power for himself. Screw all the other Americans, and let me pander to the Hispanic population to get their vote.

Such a funny maverick he is, I just can't understand why he lost to a real nobody.
Trump was very positive. He focused on what we could and would do. He’s an optimist - every great salesman is. You could see the Trump train coming from the moment he rode down his escalators. It’s just been sheer poetry ever since. This is a man, I’m confident, who spent years mulling it over, if he ever did it, this is how he would do it. That’s the part people don’t see, beyond the tweets.
