Killing Japanese pilots before Pearl Harbor. Flying my favorite aircraft of all time, the F4U “Corsair”. He was flying the Curtis P40 prior to WWII. He did not fly the Corsair until he was stationed at Vella Lavella with VMF-214.

Yes I know. The F4U was a shiny prototype when Pappy was flying for China.
