There are many travel jobs that allow you to travel for an extended period of time. Be my guest, Google it. You’ll find lists upon lists, from Au Pairs, Wwoofing and volunteering to work as a bartender, waiter, and scuba instructor.

Whilst these are all great ways to make money as you travel the world, they require you to be in a specific location for a length of time. Sure, many travelers enjoy this as they’re able to soak up the culture. Others prefer being on the move and not having to worry about finding a job because they have a job they can carry with them.

Well, with the explosion of the internet and content marketing, many are doing this and others are awakening to the opportunities. If you’re starting out and want a few ideas, here are 17 awesome travel jobs that let you work from anywhere. Bear in mind that to make a serious living from these will require hard work....

Mine...

Aircraft engineering consultant (France, Germany, Italy, Poland). Design for Manufacturing consultant (South America, China, SE Asia). I WISH I had a way to find projects in New Zealand and Australia. Tough to find jobs there

BUT... My personal favorite. International gigolo.

Anyone know how to get contract jobs in Auz or NZ let me know.

US military.

We've hit six of the seven continents.

Now we are retired under our own vine and fig tree.

Powerplant startup engineer...I’d hit about 10 countries by the time I was 26, including 7 months in China. Favorites...Philippines, Chile, Sardinia (Italy), and Argentina. But, by the time I got to Argentina, I’d gotten Hep A in Mexico and couldn’t even eat a steak! Now that was a bummer. I arrived at a nickel mine in the Philippines the day after the plant manager was sacked. My hosts put me up in his private villa instead of in the normal “guest house” for foreign workers. I still remember those daily seafood feasts for lunch. I lived like a king for a few weeks.

My daughter has done me one better. She went into the tourism industry and is getting all the travel she ever dreamed of.

Yeah, but we didn't get assigned there.

Was in Punta Arenas. Close but no cigar.

“Anyone know how to get contract jobs in Auz or NZ let me know.”

Kind of in the same boat, but without the high-test qualifications. In your case, why not just try and get better at gigoloing?

PS - can I come work for you?

You GOT the job *I* wanted! I ended up working in small plants for 20+ years, and while it has its charms, I am saddened by some of my choices.

GOOD for you! I admire your tenacity and drive.

I’d love to talk shop with you. I could use some professional advice from a person with your talents.

My account here is too new to contact you...but I’m hoping that maybe you’d contact me.

State Department taught me 4 languages, including the 3 most used in the world, over 25 years. Best of all being retired and doing short TDY gigs all over the world.

Commissioning and Troubleshooting Field Engineering for a large pump company- yeah, mostly anyplace there’s oil, gas, water and power processing. I’ve only got a couple states I haven’t been to and only a couple continents left - travel is overrated unless it’s VietJet :-)
