Putting smoke in your lungs is an unhealthy act.

Only 70-year old hippies are still smoking it. The kids today vape or eat it.

I have 3 gardens, I plant in the ground, and I do just fine.
My corn last year was especially good. I did potatoes in a raised bed for the first time last year. They were less work weeding and debugging, but I thought the yield was a bit less than in the traditional rows.
The tomatoes were very good, okra, squash and zuchini were excellent.
I have a few advantages, I must admit, but I gardened before I had them. I was fine with my old hand tiller, but my PTO tiller on the back of my New Holland turns the soil into a fine, smooth mix. A lot less work to start up with the tractor. No doubt.

Weeding is more conscientiosness than anything else to be honest with you. So that leaves fertilizing, especially corn & tomatoes, during the season.
I didn’t use one drop of insecticide last year, so I did that the old fashioned way, too.

But my sense is that it would be easy to grow that which is called a “weed”. It’s crazy not to grow at least a few where it is legal.

It’s also my sense that the ease of growing probably worries corporations and investors more than most things. It might end up being the first plant able to possess and use but illegal to grow except by the authorized. That’s the biggest threat to that business.

Thanks for your post. I grew up watching & helping my parents grow tomatoes, beans, corn, potatoes, etc in their garden. We had fresh veggies or canned veggies year round to the point I still to this day cannot eat canned veggies lol.

I also know some folks who grow their own cannabis for their own personal use. Watching them take care of their plants reminds me of watching my parents in their garden. Just need the basics: good soil, light, common sense & water to grow healthy & productive plants.

Have a friend that was prescribed vicodin last week for tooth removal. After ibuprofen wasn’t strong enough. That’s legal HEROIN and for many a direct trip to addiction.

The laughable part is that aspirin, advil, and tylenol are MUCH more toxic than any compound found in cannabis. Even caffeine is MUCH more toxic and damaging to the body. An overdose of these legal drugs will kill your liver and/or make your brain bleed.

All this while cannabis has NEVER shown ANY damage in a lab under ANY dose. There is no known toxic dose for cannabis. Even at amounts impossible to consume. Even with laboratory mice hooked up to an IV.

That’s why the drug and alcohol companies hate it so much- any idiot can grow it at home AND it’s safer than any product they could come up with.

In states with medical cannabis, legal HEROIN prescriptions have gone WAY down and drug companies are going mad.

“Is vaping inhaling?”

Yes, you inhale the vapor which is much cooler in temperature & less damaging to your lungs than smoking. With today’s vaporizers you can control the temperature to where you will never cough when vaping. I prefer vaping to smoking all day, every day. I prefer edibles over everything else.

Would your Dad have been proud of you, his stoned red eyed son with doobie hanging out of your mouth? Did you ever smoke in front of him? Did he know about it?

“The new aspirin.”

Not quite. You can overdose on aspirin.

You are too funny despite your anti-conservative, prohibitionist bent.

To my knowledge my Dad is happy I no longer suffer from depression & anxiety. He’s happy I’ve lost 80 lbs since I began using cannabis. His prayers for my well being have been answered.

My Dad & I used to drink together on occasion way back when. He’s seen my eyes get red as crayons & I his. I didn’t use cannabis then, just drank booze, mostly beer. We smoked cigs together as well.

I’m looking forward to spending some time with Dad & Mom come May. It will be the 1st time in my adult life I’ve visited them without being depressed or on pharma meds for depression & anxiety. I’m looking forward to it. :)

I have a really bad sciatic problem. Have found no relief lately. I ordered some CBD oil and have been taking the daily dose of it. Has only been a week but haven’t noticed any difference yet.

“In fact, the potheads i knew never used anything else and the cokeheads i knew never smoked pot. Two VERY different highs.”

Cokeheads can be elitist for some reason. They even have their own recovery group, CA, because who would be so bourgeois as to be part of AA or NA?

This is why we are seeing so much 'news' and negative PR on the 'opioid addiction crisis'.

The idea is to give opioids a bad name which will pave the way for the new miracle drug--marijuana. Licensed, grown and dispensed of course by the same politicians, PR flacks and corrupt leaders who had a hand in creating the negative halo around opioids.

It affects the development of the brain. When used at a young age, it has the "burn out" effect. After age 23, when the brain is fully developed, it doesn't have the same effect. People with a family history of schizophrenia are discouraged from using it. Instead of making them calm, like it does to most people, it causes agitation.

At first I didn't believe the medical benefits. But then I read a book that an author took two years to write. I was amazed. Soldiers returning from war can get sleep at night because Indica varieties help alleviate PTSD. And there are other medical benefits from cannabinoids that don't have the psychedelic effect of THC such as CBD that is given to those with severe epilepsy. Very little research has been done on cannabinoids because the drug is taboo.
