Was with other people who did more than pot. Although I do not believe everyone who uses pot goes to harder drugs, I do believe that the vast majority of hard drug users started with pot. I would not say I was addicted to drugs, but I used pot, mescaline, lsd, hash, cocaine. But pot came first. And all these drugs did was waste my time and life during that period. And who knows what it might have done to my brain and lungs?
I have no problem with legitimate medicinal use. It is the recreational aspect that is being pushed by tools of Satan in my opinion. What individual or societal good can come from being high (or drunk for that matter)? It is significant that it seems to be liberal states that are pushing recreational use. Because they want the tax money.
Would Jesus smoke pot?
“It is the recreational aspect that is being pushed by tools of Satan in my opinion. What individual or societal good can come from being high (or drunk for that matter)?”
Something I’ve been wondering about. Why do you & others believe cannabis use is a “tool of Satan”? Makes zero sense to me since we know from Genesis 1:29 that Our Heavenly Father gave to us ALL the seed bearing plants for use to use. You can’t die from using too much cannabis. Where’s the connection from a plant God gave us to Satan?
Who are you to decide what people can & cannot do in the privacy of their home? If someone wants to smoke/vape/eat cannabis after work, what’s i to you? FR nanny-staters are a truly puzzling group for sure.
I have never heard alcoholic defend their drug so fervently they way potoholics do.
“I have never heard alcoholic defend their drug so fervently they way potoholics do.”
Aww lookie there. You made up a new word that’s as non-sensical as your prohibitionist drivel. Wishing you a blessed weekend anyway :)
I’d question investing in something a person can grow in their own yard. Perhaps as a commodity? As a cigarette company?
But just getting their hands on it and bagging it is no big deal.
Well I’ll say a prayer that it did no long term damage to either.
From your sensible and well written response, it seems the brain is good! :)
Lots of people waste time and life doing lots of different things. You’re not alone.
People waste time planning and never doing.
Or saving and never using.
And on and on.
It’s a brutal human flaw.
For some unknown reason pot doesn't affect motor coordination the way alcohol does. So stoners don't stumble around like a good honest drunk does. But don't be fooled these stoned burnouts are every bit as intoxicated as the stumbling, stinking drunk.
“Pot is very psychologically addictive. I know from first hand experience with relatives/fiends. For some unknown reason pot doesn’t affect motor coordination the way alcohol does. So stoners don’t stumble around like a good honest drunk does. But don’t be fooled these stoned burnouts are every bit as intoxicated as the stumbling, stinking drunk.”
Too much of anything is not good for us. I will agree with that. Using cannabis responsibly, like people do with alcohol, caffeine, nicotine, etc does not = “a stoned burnout” anymore than drinking a cold beer = alcoholic.
So what is your view / opinion of cocaine (made from the coca plant) and heroine (made from poppy plants)? And do you always indulge yourself in contacting poison ivy and poison oak because our heavenly Father made them? Do you drink hemlock? Our Creator created all things to be sure, but I believe that some things He created were made to be object lessons; that is, there are evil and harmful elements in the world - beware of them. Cannabis, like alcohol, is a drug. Both alter your perception of reality. According to Scripture, the use of drugs is a spiritual experience - I can attest to that. The anglicized Greek word is farmakia. The definition of that word is:
1. the use or the administering of drugs
2. poisoning
3. sorcery, magical arts, often found in connection with idolatry and fostered by it
4. metaph. the deceptions and seductions of idolatry
Harmless recreational drugs? Methinks not.
And I am not deciding anything for anyone else. Can I really do that by expressing my opinion???
And I live in USSR-WA, so the way I vote normally decides nothing for anyone anyway!
Thank you! I can use every prayer anyone will offer! :)
Modern pot is about 10 times more potent( and 10 times as smelly, in a disgusting way) as the Woodstock era pot. Putting that joint down after two hits never seems to happen.
“So what is your view / opinion of cocaine (made from the coca plant) and heroine (made from poppy plants)? “
I cocaine know is used as a local anesthetic. I’m sure the patients who needed it topically are thankful for it

Heroin is one thing that can be made with poppy plants. Heroin use can & usually does lead straight to dead.
Poppy plants aren’t the problem here as this plant is used to make numerous medicines. Morphine, Codeine, Oxycodone, Hydrocodone, Buprenorphine & others are made with poppy plants.
Your opinion is yours. My opinion differs. I didn’t start using cannabis till Feb 2015 in pure desperation. Since then I use it every day in very small doses. I haven’t experienced anything spiritual while using it to my knowledge. Attending Mass & receiving Christ in the Blessed Sacrament is the only spiritual experiences I have & I am thankful each & every time.
Have a blessed weekend.
“It is rare a pot smoker gets a little high. From my experience the goal is to go all the way to “baked”.”
When I drank in my younger days that’s how I drank. These days, I’d use cannabis every day if it never made me high at all.
“Modern pot is about 10 times more potent( and 10 times as smelly, in a disgusting way) as the Woodstock era pot.”
When I read this fact I always grin. I believe it’s a very good thing cannabis is more potent today than during Woodstock. It means I don’t have to use as much & I save $$$ in the long run.
“Putting that joint down after two hits never seems to happen.”
I’ve observed this over the years with various band members who had to smoke a joint during every break. I’ve also watched people who were cannabis users that would stop after 2 hits or perhaps 1 joint. Myself? I use what I need & nothing more.
Because we’re not wealthy I have to plan my cannabis use well in advance depending on how much cannabis I have & when I can afford to purchase more. I use the same amount every day & I keep my tolerance low by daily changing how I use it. I switch between 2 vaporizers & vary when I eat the edibles. Now & then I will smoke it but I really hate the smoking process. Flavorable it ain’t. :)
It does not sound like you are using it recreationally; that is, in more of a medicinal manner. No problem with that. God bless.
