Sure, now that nobody remembers him or has to put up with him ...

Maybe, Kristof has some good words for Pol Pot, too ...

They only wronged him against their hero, Teddy Kennedy. They tried everything they could to help him in the fall campaign against Reagan.

Jimmy Carter is an intelligent man. You don’t get to be a Chief engineer on a nuke boat without knowing a thing or two. Having said that, he was a slow motion, 3D, quadrophonic, panavision trainwreck of a president. The economy was so bad, economists had to invent new words to describe it (stagflation). Jimmah was so bad, his alcoholic “Good ‘ol boy” brother Billy was more popular than Jimmah. Interest on mortgages was so high you’d think guys nicknamed “Nicky the chin”, or “Joey no nose” were the ones setting the rates.

Bad, Bad, Bad.

If anything, the media was far too kind to that bumbling fool.

Jimmy Carter caused the deaths of 1 million people because he didn't assist the Shah in stopping the Religious fanatic revolution.

Jimmy Carter may eventually be responsible for the deaths of many millions more.

How laughable... I remember how the media treated Carter while he was in office and they treated him like a super star and despite all that adoration from the mainstream media his polling numbers still dropped to all time lows in the fall of 1979. Several Democrats even decided to challenge Jimmy for the Democrat nomination including Teddy (How’s the water down there Mary-Joe?) Kennedy... And the media obviously got tingles at the prospect of a Kennedy presidency... Then the most wonderful thing of all happened for Jimmy... A revolution in Iran caused by his own ineptness (one of many failures during his presidency) resulted in the American embassy employees being taken hostage... Well guess what happened then??? Jimmy’s polling numbers sky rocketed to highs he hadn’t seen during his entire presidency.

Now you wouldn’t think that a nice guy like Jimmy would take advantage of such a thing to re-win the Democrat nomination and run again for President, but he did. And when he ran, leaving the White House and actually campaigning was impossible because of that hostage thing going on in Iran... His numbers stayed high and continued to do so... Even after the failed rescue attempt Jimmy’s numbers were strong... And the day of the election was expected by most mainstream journalist to be a Democrat romp... Funny thing happened on the way to the polls though... The people they polled were different than the people who voted and despite Jimmy’s awesome polling numbers, he lost in a historic landslide.

Well... The media had to blame somebody for all this mess and when they considered the many stark and obvious failures of Jimmy’s presidency... He got the blame.

If the mainstream media considers for one second that Obama isn’t going to get the blame for his failed presidency, they can think again... Because while Jimmy’s Presidency was a terrible tenure, Obama’s wasn’t much better. History has a way of working itself out and that will be the case with Obama’s legacy as well.

Right now, it was the Russian’s fault, or even Hillary’s fault... But the reason why Donald Trump won the Presidency is because Obama was a complete failure. So if Mr. Kristof or someone of his ilk is lucky enough to be writing about Obama’s legacy 37 years from now they will likely lament on how poorly the media treated him, but they will be printing a falsehood much like the falsehood Mr. Kristof has written of Jimmy’s treatment by the media.

The media treated Jimmy fantastically, while history treated him with the fairness a failed President deserves. Obama’s failures have been many and history will record them, hash over them and most sensible scholars will come to the same and obvious conclusion about Obama’s presidency. Abject failure and the worst two term President in history.

Carter was an intellectual. The worst kind of president.

See Woodrow Wilson.
