They are just rearranging the ACA, not a damned thing is repealed.
It takes just as much effort to set the rate to zero as it does to strike the provision.
I think around 17,000 were hired.
Anyone know if the insidious “Cadillac” tax got dumped?
I’m not sure that they can do this this time around. It has to do with how many votes it needs in the Senate - they have to keep it to only needing 51. Perhaps deleting the tax provision entirely might change it too much.
It's a great day for America—and it's a shame that the armchair quarterbacks are engaging in such gratuitous negativity that they don't even realize it.
The TDS™ (Trump Derangement Syndrome) sufferers in this community will find little relief as long as this President remains in office, it would seem, because there will be much more of this incremental winning to come.
President Trump doesn't do "window-dressing". He doesn't want to be blamed for a health care solution which doesn't work. That's why I'm absolutely convinced that he is going to make sure that these measures help the American working and business classes.
Again, a yuge win for this President, this Movement, and We the People—and a yuge loss for the Democrats and Media (but I repeat myself)—and especially for the Trump-bashers and #NeverTrumpers.
To protect the interests of the American People and working class, I trust nobody in government more than President Trump. He has earned our loyalty and support.
The bitterness emanating from some around here is truly inexplicable. Anyone who isn't happy for America tonight should seriously re-evaluate both their heart and their mind, because they have lost their way at some point.
The remarks made in the aftermath of this vote at the White House—by various statesmen who contributed to this success—were both passionate and poignant.
I believe this President is being used as an instrument of God's will.
What say you?
Freeper LS put it best earlier today:
"Its really simple. One man, + God, is greater than any swamp and any army. It's high time for the cynics to set aside their bitterness and lack of goodwill—and give this President the benefit of the doubt moving forward. It's high time to achieve positive change—standing on the sidelines and making the perfect the enemy of the good is no way to govern...If God has His hand on The Donald, everything will work out. If He doesnt there isnt a thing we can do."
It’s not about “giving the President the benefit of the doubt”, it’s about calling out Congress.
Rah rah “our team” won. Big deal. It’s the Democrat agenda being tweaked by the Republicans. Republicans once again deliver the Democrat agenda. They are ideologically barren and serve no purpose. They haven’t for a century.
That's just an asinine assertion...
Great repeal success.
When does it go into effect so we see all those taxes on us go down?
It’s a fact.
Have they turned back the Democrat agenda? Ever?
Wilson?
FDR?
LBJ?
No. No. And no.
And now here they are tweaking Obama’s agenda.
Until the President signs a bill repealing it, Obamacare is still the law of the land.
This is just the first step, it is far from over, and a significant portion of our side is just fine with the status quo.
True words. The never trumpers are perpetually aggrieved. Can’t help them. They either get on the train or get left behind wondering what happened.
The reactions of the Democrats and Media (but I repeat myself) demonstrate the falsehood of such assertions.
I don't know why you'd maintain such a ridiculous position.
Oh, wait—yes I do...
Repealed only in the loosest sense.
You’re taking the word of Grover al-Norquist?
“It takes just as much effort to set the rate to zero as it does to strike the provision.”
I may be wrong, but striking a provision could be legal grounds to take it to court. Setting to zero just modifies the money amount.
That’s a non-sequitur.
This bill amends ACA, i.e. it tweaks Obama’s “signature law”.
Yeah. It’s just some “tweaking”...
This is good to know.
PING!
It’s listed as repeal. it’s more of a tweak.
