I wonder how close. They both seem to be a little light in the loafers to me.
He's trying to keep intact a giant personal structure of corruption and duplicity without the political power necessary to do so. He also tries to appear to be the good guy at the same time. There's something Uriah Heepish about him.

Great point. I don’t understand how teams of “high profile lawyers” can’t figure this out. Charge Comey today. Mueller will be gone by 4PM. Very simple.
Mueller helping out a buddy avoid prison time for illegal leaking and obstruction of justice...
How long until the deeply corrupt Mueller calls on Hillary Clinton for details of her email scam linking her to Comey and she gets immunity for it...
If Comey doesn’t out ALL the traitors, and/or is caught lying (again) the immunity has to be rescinded.

I hate to think it, but is it possible that Sessions’ recusal was him turning against Trump?

Webb says immunity is also expected for McCabe.
With Sessions recused, we are screwed.
We are screwed unless the President suspends any immunity deals under consideration. He must do this now, immediately before Rosenstein signs off on it.
