The Trace says it was a Tec 9.
Another story says that it jammed. The Tec 9 pistols were notorious for jamming.

Never seen a soviet 80 rnd drum

still the SKS was designed with a 10 rnd fixed mag and with the exception of the Chinese paratrooper model mag changes aint happening in an intuitive or expeditious manner

I picked up one of the original Planet of the Apes model. I love it! Got a couple of 20 round mags that work well but can load only 18 each.
