So you are asked for your concealed carry license, you reach for it in your wallet or where ever and get shot. How do you handle that?
Part of it is affirmative action, part training and part who the hell would want to become a policeman in this day and age?
Inaccurate. Castile was the driver (camera reversed the seating position)
Is that the exact sequence of what happened in this case?
Do you know at what point the cop pulled his weapon?
If a nice officer pulls me over, I figure the first thing he’s going to ask for is my DL and insurance. By the time he makes it to the vehicle, (and every cop show I’ve watched it’s usually a few minutes of lingering back there) I have my hands in plain sight with my CC permit inhand with my DL. I do not move and I maintain eye contact. I explain I am holding my CC permit and I am armed and I wait for the nice officer to tell me what to do next and I do not move my hands until he does tell me what to do. Which will be, sit there, while he takes my DL/CC, goes back to the safety of his car, checks everything out, and then brings them back with, a have a good day, and here’s a fixit ticket, sorry about that.
Yep - giving a cop attitude or doing some other stupid sh!t is not going to make “the stop” go any quicker.
And given the gravity of this thread, here is a bit of levity - Chris Rock provides an explanation in layman’s terms on how to interact with the police:

Inform the officer as you should. But...KEEP YOUR FLIPPING HANDS ON THE STEERING WHEEL AT 10 & 2 until told to remove them!
This guy was reaching for something and got himself killed because of it.
He should not announce the gun while reaching in his pocket. Announcing a gun should only be done when both hands are clearly visible and not moving. Once you announce the gun nothing the officer said before matters, so forget about the ID now and when the officer says “don’t reach for **IT** assume that means don’t reach for ANYTHING.
When you conceal carry you get trained and need to know how to reveal your piece to LE in a way that will cause them no fear that it could be used against them, so announcing that while reaching in your pants pocket, and then apparently not complying with an order to stop is a textbook case on how NOT to announce your gun.
The obvious answer is to get a suspect out of the vehicle ASAP.
