It must be the way you have your computer/device configured. I use an iMac or an iPad and have had no problems with pop-ups as they’re only allowed if I have specifically selected the site to allow pop-ups.
Check your security settings — otherwise you’re missing a lot.

I’m running asblock plus in Chrome - the site came up cleanly but the app showed 23 ads being blocked.
