Not sure what this Penzey guy’s Mexican vanilla consists of, but years ago you could buy Mexican vanilla in Mexico.....that had to eventually be pulled off the shelves, because it contained RAT POISON.

What the bleeding hell is "Mexican vanilla" ? Everyone knows that THE best vanilla is made with vanilla beans from Madagascar! And the price is through the roof at the moment cause of a couple bad years of the vanilla bean crop.
Who wouldn't go after free vanilla extract?
Except me who wouldn't trust anything from Mexico any more than I would trust if from China.
