Their reading comprehension skills are lacking, too. They inevitably bring up the word "militia" and usually ask you which militia you belong to. But it is plain to any reasonably capable reader that the first phrases acknowledge the need for and desirability of a citizen militia, but the next part says nothing that limits that right to the militia. What part of "shall not be infringed" do they fail to understand?
That's a fatal mistake on their part: say the same one you're part of
, pull out your State Constitution and show them where it's defined.
(Many/most state constitutions define the militia as able-bodied males 18 to 45, or some variation.)
