St. Mary’s of the Lake in Wisconsin used to make an awesome fruitcake. They quit when it was going to cost too much to bring their kitchen up to new codes. I found the recipe on line and made it one year. It was as good as I remembered, but a LOT of work.

Yes, a bit of work and not cheap.

The first time I brought some to work, most would not try it until they heard it was rum soaked.

After sampling, some asked for the recipe.
They later brought in some good fruitcake.

my husband and all of his family love fruitcake and I make it every year, even though I never eat it....

its fun to make, the aroma of all the ingredients plus the ample amount of rum I drizzle on it is wonderful....

Try Collins Bakery out of Texas. Quite good. With that, may I introduce my
New tag line?
