Just a few years ago I saw a yute working a chipper. Texting. Fumbled his phone and followed it into the chipper.
None of the others saw a thing. He was gone that fast.

Burning man, challenge accepted. Hopefully that was the last item on his bucket list.

Good riddance to the stupid.
I just wish the other 100 million liberal morons would follow him in.

Julius Caesar in his book the Gallic Wars described the original burning man. These were human sacrifices. The Druids (ie the pagan priests) tied people to a big wooden effigy of a man and set it on fire.
(Gaul is modern France.)
In the middle ages in christian europe—many people were burned at the stake for heresy or witchcraft. But that was thought of as punishment.

There has always been something ‘gratuitously pagan’ about the
Burning Man events, based on what I know of them as an outsider. A lot of their customs sound like sacred rituals with all the original sanctity suctioned out.
I get that for most people, it’s just a fun place to go and party with others in your age group.

I’m surprised it took 19 entries for Darwin and his awards to surface. I’ve never been much interested in the Burning Man, but reading a Free Republic thread is always good.
