You never know. A few decades ago, there was a news story about a guy that saw a park maintenance crew utilizing a wood chipper.
IIRC, witnesses said he started running towards the chipper, discarding his watch and wallet, and dove headlong into the machine.

Just a few years ago I saw a yute working a chipper. Texting. Fumbled his phone and followed it into the chipper.
None of the others saw a thing. He was gone that fast.
