"Apposite" does have a meaning and appose may be a legitimate derivation but I don't think our poster knows that.

Not to pick a nit, but that word does not mean the same thing as “oppose.”

Things that are “opposed” to one another are placed in opposition or at odds with each other.

Things that are “apposed” are placed side by side or possibly juxtaposed so as to work in concert with one another.
