Some gun folks don’t like to disassemble it, which is a small hiccup.

Why? It is one of the most easily disassembled weapons in the world. My father taught me to do it when I was about ten years old.

No, it’s not.
You can take apart almost any modern semi-auto in seconds, with the push of a button and the turn of a lever. The 1911 requires you to remove bushings and pins.

In sixth grade, my son did a demonstration on how to field strip a M1911 for his class. Mom had to help with the recoil spring because he was not strong enough to compress it.

Lutheran school.
