President George W. Bush was “selected not elected”, in Bush v. Gore at SCOTUS.

President Donald J. Trump won because “Russia” hacked the election.

Democrats no longer accept presidential election results, unless they win It’s like their reaction to a coin toss for who carries our flag at the Olympics. The purpose of “Blue Wave” talk is to delegitimize all other elections too. The natural outcome of a loss of confidence in democracy and in governmental legitimacy is going to be ugly. I’d like to say it will not be any worse than the unpleasantness from 1961 to 1965, but even that outcome would take a miraculous stroke of good luck.

Well said. You are spot on.

I would only add that the left also labored hard, although in a less sophisticated manner, to delegitimize Reagan as well by claiming he got elected simply because he was an actor. They continued to seek to delegitimize Regan throughout his term by claiming he was nothing more than an “amiable dunce”.

Oops, I meant: I’d like to say it will not be any worse than the unpleasantness from 1861 to 1865, but even that outcome would take a miraculous stroke of good luck.
