He’s been granted Italian citizenship. I wonder if UK citizenship were renounced if they would let this little boy go to get treatment? If the UK government believes that they will be on the hook for millions of dollars in round the clock medical care should this child live long enough, that might be why they are doing what they are doing.
From what I understand, the Italian hospital is offering to treat Alfie for free, so the NHS/taxpayers are not on the hook for his long term care.
