Because the participants wanted something both sides would enjoy! Not something you would have to paste a smile on your face while eating. And coulis is just cherry sauce, right out of the jar.

Not something you would have to paste a smile on your face while eating. Korean desserts like bingsu are far less of a problem in this regard than the kimchi-marred main courses. :)
