Give me several million hunters with the equivalent of sniper rifles (typical deer rifles) who know the terrain and have the support of the local people any day over a trained military. Time is on the side of the hunter who would be defending their own home territory.

Perhaps in the WWII era.

the military will fight with precision bombs and drones just like in the Middle East.

Most leftists live in big cities. Cut off their water supply and you will have them surrendering within days. Cut off their food supply and it will take longer but the effect on their moral would be greater.

Food can be dropped in by planes though so cutting off the water would be the most effective way.

Of course then the problem will be what to do with them.

Problem is the actual size of our military. Some 475,000 in the Army of which the bulk are support people, not front line soldiers. Some 100,000 Marines , and while the attitude is ‘every Marine is a shooter’ the reality is there are still a significant portion that is support. Not near enough people in the active military to put down a revolt. So you would have to call up the reserves, and that becomes highly problematic. Who would they fight fo4, the government that has become insulated from mainstream America, or would they form up units and fight against the government and it’s supporters.

If the US land forces fight on the side of the President, he will prevail. If they fight on the side of a hostile Congress and judiciary, he will lose. Who they support, and the shape of the crisis which determines that, is history yet to be written. As far as who the troops support, that really doesn't matter. Here's a scenario:

You are a USMC captain. Your battalion has deployed to Fort Meade because of a vague "terrorist threat", your mission is to protect the capital.

At 2 am you gat a call from your major that the White House is under attack by terrorists (almost true), that the President and Vice President are missing (true), that terrorists dressed as US forces are moving through Arlington VA (false).

You are ordered to deploy your rifle company to M and 34th in Georgetown and kill anything that moves on the Key Bridge, which intel says is the route hostile forces plan to use to enter the capital.

The internet is down. TV and radio stations are off the air.

Is there ANY chance you will not move out and start shooting at the troops from Fort McNair trying to cross the Key Bridge and rescue the President?

Don't forget oil and gas, which is overwhelmingly produced in red states like Texas, North Dakota and Oklahoma. Let's see how the leftists survive with no oil or gas.

That is the problem, not the skinny jeans brigade.

The Americans that maintain & supply the blood of this country -food, water, power - are not liberals and could wage war by Not moving a finger.

If things get ugly, the Donks could tool up very quickly. A couple of hours and a few thousand dollars at Cabelas (maybe more), and anybody can be very well armed.

How many of us are engineers, mechanics, scientists, chemists?

I wouldn't drop my expertise/skills just to pick up that musket.

No one.

The first Civil War was a sheer stroke of luck in terms of the geographic position of either side. People in the north could go about their normal lives for the most part.

Another one will not be that way.

Anyone acting cocky had better realize that the easy life you enjoy now will come to an end for a real long time if one ever happened.

It all depends on how many people show up on either side.

God only knows why people here act like the left somehow can’t shoot a gun too.

Doesn’t take that damn long to learn how to use one.

How many rifle carrying Americans could a C-130 gunship kill in an hour?

Nothing should happen to Trump

A cast of hundreds should move to another country anyhow.

Sounds exactly like the Revolutionary War.

Exactly - except the opposing army is not at the end of a 4000 mile supply chain fed by wooden sailing ships that cross the North Atlantic in winter.

If the US land forces are on the side of the President, he will win. If they are on the side of a hostile Congress and judiciary, he will lose.

How many NRA members are on which side is irrelevant.

One of the lessons from the sandbox wars is that urban guerrilla warfare is very costly to the assaulting force. Three guys can tie up a company for most of a morning. Properly conducted counter attacks will render the assault force ineffective in many cases.

...”But bunches of guys who are good with rifles are not an army. We would not last five minutes against a USMC rifle company.”
Explain Afghanistan to me then. Or Iraq. Or Vietnam...

Or, on the road back to Concord from Lexington, through Valley Forge, all the way to Yorktown.
