I REALLY like Publix Philly. But, Jersey Mike and Firehouse also have a good Philly.

I try the Philly at most places we go. It’s kind of like BBQ. You try it all over and compare and contrast.

“”No Publix around here, but I’ve been wanting to try a Firehouse Subs sandwich for a while. I hear they’re pretty good.””

Firehouse subs are super good. We are closer to a Publix and I go there every week than we are to a Firehouse Subs so I may have to try them. My husband and I each get a large Firehouse sub on our way home from his urology appointments - we eat one for lunch when we get home and the other one for dinner. Don’t EVER look at the calorie count!!!

“”I lived near several Pulbix grocery stores and their subs are way about Subway””

Our favorite sub is pastrami and the Subway shops in our area stopped ordering pastrami and no one knows why. They weren’t that great but they were closest and we settled for them until we found Firehouse....

I get the gluten jokes, but some people — like me — have celiac disease and suffer medically proven ill effects from gluten and have to avoid it as toxic. Alas, Publix does not seem to have gluten-free rolls for their subs.

Mr Sub in Chicago bllows them all out of the water. The secret to Publix is they use Mr Subs style of Salad Oil on the sub.
You can get the salad oil at Subway but Mr Sub and Publix dont ask it as an option. People like it immediatley.

I don’t like the coating on Publix fried chicken. Kroger’s fried chicken is much better.

Also, some people on the internet went on and on about the key lime pie at Publix, so I tried it.

It was awful. Threw it out.

In my area, the best key lime pie slice is at Longhorn’s.

The best cheesecake slice is at Logan’s Roadhouse.

I once got the cheesecake at Outback 10 yrs ago.... and still remember how bad it was.

I live in Florida. There’s a Publix on every block. The sandwiches are very good and the fried chicken is excellent. Order online and you won’t have to wait on line.

We have Firehouse subs as well. They’re also pretty good.

What we don’t have is Wegmans!

Here in East TN we have an Italian Restaurant with a Mexican chef. He personally makes the Philly-Cheese subs ... and there is none better, even in Philadelphia.

I’m in East TN. What is the restaurant? Might be a good place to visit.

Take North Roan from Johnson City. When you reach Zak's Furniture on your right, the restaurant is just ahead at the end of a little strip mall, across from the Hardee's.

They are not bad. Better then Subway or Jersey Mikes (which are IMHO ripoffs).

Not great but you will not have any trouble getting it down. The pickle spears on the other hand are REALLY good. I go in and give a five dollar donation and walk out with a box full of nothing but pickles. That holds me for about a week.

There is a country store and gas station in my community and when I go in there I order a sandwich from time to time. Bologna or ham, it’s always thick and piled with fixings and a value for its price with a bag of chips or an apple from the bushel basket and a cold drink from the cooler.

You don’t live in a blue state, obviously.

Publix is employee-owned and the largest employee-owned company in the world. I’ve been eating two ultimate subs a week for the last fifteen years. It’s amazing I haven’t burned out on them, but so far, so good.
