In the pitch-black totally darkened Orthodox church at midnight on Pascha a light suddenly appears from behind the shuttered Iconostasis.

The Priest emerges with the single light of the new Paschal candle.

One by one the faithful come forward to light their tapers from his, all the while the choir (rapidly joined by everyone) chants

Come, take the light from the Light
Which cannot be overtaken by night.
And glorify Christ
Who is Risen from the dead!

EVERY Christian should experience this at least once--even if one remains in one's own faith tradition.
