She had problems just going out of her house for months afterward. Counseling really does help in situations like this.
I agree. One of the things the therapists worked on was to teach the girl to talk to her father and to teach the father how to listen. She is in college .now and lives with a relative who works for the school. She feels less vulnerable knowing she can go home and there is an adult she can trust right there.
