Of course not!
This spineless weasels in Congress didn’t even have the balls to come out and call her a liar. Instead, they all proclaimed how convincing she was, and that it was OBVIOUS something terrible had happened to her (yeah... like liberalism!) but she was just mistaken, somehow, about it being Kavanaugh - what a load of bull! They WILLFULLY ignored the truth staring them in the faces!
More than that, in fact. If they had any commitment to the truth they would have said “wild, last minute accusations by a known liberal activist citing witnesses who deny even KNOWING the party in question are not grounds for a congressional investigation” and never even entertained this nonsense, allowing a man’s reputation to be savaged as they sat there and covered their own asses for future elections.
While all you said is true, I cannot think of a more powerful motivator for the Republicans this midterm.
Their gambit failed, and backfired spectacularly.
It may have cost them the House and many Governorships.
