They’ve given up on themselves Madame. They were always good at putting their tails between their legs and their hands in the air.

right...didn’t we fight two wars so that Germany and their Muslim allies wouldn’t run all over France with their army... and now France is talking about arming Germany to protect them from us? They are talking about a United States of Europe?

Research the Kalergi Plan ... what is old is new again.

My deepest regards to your uncles.

The one who was in a rifle platoon came out of it with two serious wounds from artillery fragments (one definitely "made in Germany," the other probably "friendly") and a bad case of having seen too much and done too much. The other ETO uncle had a "good war." Two others - one in the Aleutians and one in the Pacific - probably would say the experience was a wash if they were here to discuss it.

Four uncles in WWII; one uncle, a FIL and my dad during the Korean War, my only kid deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan twice.

I guess they kept European international socialists secure and made America safe for Democrat vote fraud and fake Russian dossiers.

Even the great 19th-century migration from Europe to America, there were no free handouts. They came for the opportunity to work – not a free meal.

They came for a new life in a new Country.
There was no hop in the car and go back to the Motherland. They were here to stay.
Unlike to caravan that wants a job, make money, send it home.

My one uncle , my late mothers brother-in-law was a Polish immigrant, one of those ‘’born on the boat coming over’’ kids. The family settled in Jersey City which at one time has a very large Polish population.

He was studying mechanical engineering at Cooper Union when he got his draft notice in April of 1944. He asked the Army if he could finish his education. The said ok. He graduates Cooper Union with a four year masters degree in mechanical engineering, goes into the service in June of ‘44 now with a degree you’d think, officer, engineers, right? Nope. Infantry as a private. Does his basics at Ft. Dix, heavy weapons training at Camp Blanding in Florida when they word of the counter attack in the Ardennes. He ships out. Ends up in Marche, Belgium sometime around the 22 or 23rd of December. He’s a replacement with the 84th. Infantry Division. He’s wounded on the 3rd of January, 1945. Shrapnel in the jaw, 88mm. Damn near took his head off. Recouping in a hospital in England when the Army says “Hey, you’d make a great officer!’’ Now poor unc must have thought “I’m dead now’’ because what else to they do with new lieutenants , infantry, right? Nope, he ends up in a transport and supply unit. He finds out if you volunteer for jump training for what was to be the invasion of Japan they send you back to the States for the training, so he does. Ends up at Ft. Campbell, KY with the 101st. The bombs are dropped , Yeah! The wars over and he goes into active reserve. Mean time he gets married has a couple of kids, August of ‘51 with Korea going he’s called up, send back to transport and supply in West Germany, that war ends and he mustered out in Sept. of 1953. Some story, huh? He was a great guy. Made a mouth watering Polish ham, man was it good.
