You learn something new every day on FR. Looking forward to the thread...
Second, building(assembling) a firearm is a rewarding activity. If you do your own minor home repairs and vehicle maintenance you can assemble a firearm of the AR style.
Third, there are few tools specifically designed for this work. Spend the money to buy them from Brownell’s or Midway.
Fourth, be wary of crap parts - especially if you intend to use the firearm as a defense tool.
New one comes with a warranty... If you build it yourself you will still have to buy a numbered receiver and it is still documented to you when it is transferred.
That banshee is a beauty. I might consider compiling a list of all the Pistol Caliber Carbines (PCC) in 9mm that might scratch your itch before you decide. You’re obviously taking the time to do some research.... might as well see all the options (there are a lot).
This Ping List is for all things pertaining to the 2nd Amendment.
FReepmail me if you want to be added to or deleted from the list.

You are going to want a 9” + barrel to make the most of 9mm velocities, making 9mm MUCH more attractive. Make sure you get threaded barrel for suppressors.
Oh ! And one more thing !
These short “rifles” where people hold them like a rifle... They also tend to shoot their fingers off. I’m not saying that it’s guaranteed - but for some reason people do this. And not just 2 or 3 people a year - but HUNDREDS of people shoot their fingers off with short barreled firearms.
With my AR pistol barrel I have a hand guard, and I love wielding it in my shoulder in tight spaces. With this the barrel is so short that if one did attempt to shoulder it I fear the hand angles would get your hands pretty close to the muzzle.
This should be fired like a pistol, and not shouldered. That’s my take on it anyway.
Click bait. Btw, the gun in the pic is illegal.
This isn’t what you are looking for but if i were you, I’d go with a Ruger PC carbine 9mm. It can accept most Ruger and Glock magazines, is about 1/3 the cost of what you pictured and doesn’t have that scary military look.
I don't know jack about AR's myself, but now that this thread is up to 80+ replies and almost all of it good opinions, may I ax:
In a weapon of this type, why not a 10mm? Just axin'.
