A glassware manufacturer in Hortonville, Wisconsin, gifted employees handguns for Christmas this year.
Ben Wolfgram, who co-owns BenShot a company that produces glassware embedded with bullets opted to gift his employees handguns in an attempt at team building and for personal safety.
The Appleton Post-Crescent reported Wolfgrams business has 16 full-time employees some of whom are U.S. military veterans.
Wolfgram told the outlet that most of his employees were gratified by the prospect of a handgun, and only two initially declined the gift.
They appeared to reconsider, however, after taking a gun safety course on the companys urging, Wolfgram said.
One employee, Chelsea Priest, said that she feels protected by the gift.
Ive never been a part of anything like this, she admitted.
Wolfgram isnt concerned about workplace violence in connection with the gifts.
For us, now, we have an entire armed staff, he said. I think thats pretty good.
Wolfgram told WBAY-TV that his employees safety is of utmost concern.
I want to make sure all [of our] employees are safe and happy a handgun was the perfect gift, he explained.
Wolfgram told WISN-TV that he complied with the law regarding the purchase of the weapons.
Wolfgram said that he told the employees to pick out their handgun of choice, and he provided them with a gift card expressly for that weapon.
That way the background check was done by the store, Wolfgram said, noting that the company is a small, close-knit team.
The handguns cost the company about $8,000, according to the outlet.

Now, THAT is a Christmas bonus!
Ooooohhh... Young Mr. Hogg’s head is going to explode.
WI=Wisconsin! Oh... I read WI as WWI and thought boy that business owner is old. lol
Your link won’t work for me. Could you please re-post it?
Thats one way to make sure all your employees can pass an FBI background check.
A very thoughtful and practical gift. He’s a good man.
I wish...
My husband would love that.
Yep, ordering for Christmas.
Thank you.
Will pay for itself in publicity alone.
Thanks for posting that for me! I was going to pimp their company a bit. They make some cool cocktail glasses!
“Thats one way to make sure all your employees can pass an FBI background check.”
It’s a win/win for the owner!
Beau bought me a sweet Browning 1911 .22 for Christmas a few years back; I wanted a Walther P38 but it was just too big for my ladylike (HA!) hand. ;)
Anyhow, I had a really fun time with the background check. I have been married 2x plus my Mom changed my last name when I was little, so it took me a while to convince the lady agent on the phone that yes, I was who I claimed to be, and BOTH of my Ex-husbands were alive and well, LOL!
The gun shop clerk just handed the phone to me so I could talk directly to her, LOL!
I LIKED that she was so thorough, and she was impressed that I am a Veteran, have had NO arrests, and NO vehicular violations of ANY kind...not even a parking ticket. She said I am the Poster Girl for Gun Ownership. :)
Aw, Crud! Thought I had an exclusive, LOL!
