Fed tax differential = $0.06/gal.

I thought that Gasoline was due to get a mandated Sulfur reduction too.

Diesel used to be ~ $0.15 to $0.30/gal more than gas. Now it is sometimes over a Buck higher.

The only reason for that that I could see is if the US is exporting Diesel overseas in ever increasing volume. (we used to swap gasoline and Diesel with Europe, but I don’t know what is going on with that these days.)

Here is a web site that shows the difference in taxes and production costs.

Production cost of diesel used to be much less than that of gasoline.

Only 48% of the cost of diesel is in the crude oil.

57% of the cost of gasoline is in the crude oil.
