Actually, in or about 1019, the center of North America would be occupied by the people who built Cahokia, a thriving city as large as any in Western Europe, with a trade network which extended from the Great Lakes Far down the Mississippi, East up the Ohio and West up the Missouri, with a population greater than it would be in the 15th Century, when the Europeans arrived.
