My point is that we all have a history, and judgement isn’t our job. I would wish her a return to good health and a fast retirement at the same time, but I don’t wish death or illness on anyone - it’s just not right. At one time RBG was a newly married Army wife who applied for a GS-5 civil service job, only to be denied and offered a GS-2 cllerk-typist position instead after she told them she was pregnant. She needed the job and accepted that was “just how things are”.
You don’t have to agree with her liberal views to appreciate that we are all human and that our views are shaped by our experiences.
Antonin Scalia saw some good in her; the two were very good friends.
Yes, she and that Army officer began courting after the Battle of Antietam.
(I heard something like that from another Freeper and chuckled for days at it...:)
A psalm of David when he fled from his son Absalom.
Lord, how my foes increase!
There are many who attack me.
Many say about me,
There is no help for him in God.
But you, Lord, are a shield around me,
my glory, and the one who lifts up my head.
I cry aloud to the Lord,
and he answers me from his holy mountain.
I lie down and sleep;
I wake again because the Lord sustains me.
I will not be afraid of thousands of people
who have taken their stand against me on every side.
Rise up, Lord!
Save me, my God!
You strike all my enemies on the cheek;
you break the teeth of the wicked.
Salvation belongs to the Lord;
may your blessing be on your people.
If David can pray that God breaks the teeth of the wicked, why can’t I? Although I’d LOVE it if she converted instead.
