I thought James Buchanan was a shrimpy little guy.
I also thought LBJ was super tall. Maybe 6'4".
He was described as "towering over everyone".
I suspected Washington was tall,but he supposedly had Klinefelters syndrome.
I'm surprised that Jefferson was tall, also surprised at how many 1800s POTUSes were tall.
Must have seemed strange in that era.
Pre-vaccines, pre any kind of nutrition we know about now.
Just curious. How tall is Jeb? On his tiptoes and not on his tiptoes.
I’m glad we never had to measure him as a president.
I thought that Andy Jackson was taller. Huh. But I knew that James Madison was short as I read that. He also talked soft and had a constant cough for some reason.
Jeb is 6’3” - same height as Trump.

The guy is already tall at 6’3” and then gets on his tipty-toes to try and tower over Trump. Just ... damn.
There was a theory that the taller candidate always wins. But it’s not true. GW Bush was shorter than both his opponents. Carter was shorter than Ford. Nixon was shorter than McGovern. Roosevelt was shorter than Willkie. McKinley was shorter than Bryan.
Madison was known as “Little Jim’’. But thanks to him we have the 2nd. Amendment written into the Bill of Rights. Not that the other Founders were against it but they felt, given the time, that it should be self-evident that owning a fire arm was as important as owing a plow. Or a Bible. But Madison insisted on it being in the Bill of Rights so that no one could ever say no such right existed. Thank God for “Little Jim’’.
Had to be strong to survive. And I bet the Virginian plantations had lots of good protein and vegetables.
